College and Career Ministry!
Vision
The College and Career Ministry will engage “twentysomethings” in relevant relationship with Jesus
Christ and nurture the relationship into a lifelong commitment.
The College and Career Ministry exists to connect 18-29 year olds to the mission of Bethel Temple Church
by reaching (evangelism) college and career age young adults for Christ, teaching (discipleship) them to
have a relationship with Him, touching (worship) the heart of God with our worship, loving (fellowship)
each other as a family, and sending (ministry) and equipping the saints for ministry.
The College and Career Ministry will begin with 18 year olds who have graduated high school and include
anyone in their 20s who are single or (perhaps) recently married without children.  Newly married couples
and young families will be better served by a separate ministry focused on the issues unique to their
situations.  The College and Career Ministry aims to connect with and support those who are transitioning
from high school into college or careers – a critical juncture when decisions about the role of faith in their
adult lives are being solidified.
Mission
Who Will be Involved?
What Will We Learn?
The College and Career Ministry will focus on topics that help the “twentysomethings” confirm and
deepen their commitment to Christ.  Bible studies will be discussion oriented.  The curriculum will be
Bible-based, but driven by questions that the “twentysomethings” want to tackle.  Opportunities will also be
provided to strengthen fellowship among the group, to reach out to the two college campuses and other
“twentysomethings” in our community, and to provide ministry projects that will involve the group in
practical expressions of faith.

The initial Bible study topic will focus on affirming and developing a relationship with Jesus Christ.  The
group will seek to understand why so many teenagers who were connected to church in high school choose
to let their faith go in their twenties.  We will explore what a relationship with God is all about and develop
practices to strengthen that commitment.
