Q: Should I join a CORE Group?
Updated: Mar 20
CORE Groups at Bethel Temple CBC is the avenue through which fellowship and Bible studies exist. CORE is an acronym for:
Creating Opportunities to Reach Everyone
That is the main goal of CORE Groups--to give everyone a chance to be reached, impacted and changed by the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. At Bethel Temple we desire to encourage--in all aspects of the church--praise and testimony of God's working in the lives of the people of the church. We long to love one another through ministry in the body using the gifts of the Holy Spirit with the fruit of the Spirit to bring spiritual maturity to each person (Matt. 18:15-17, 1 Cor. 12:4-6, Rom. 12:4-8, Gal. 5:22-23, Eph. 4:11-13, 1 John 4:10-11).
It is our duty to emphasize relevant teaching of the Word of God to all ages and equip them for active ministry. Through the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ locally and we can make disciples of all who respond (Matt. 9:36-38, Matt. 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, Acts 8:1-4, Rom. 10:13-15). This is how we encourage a true love for the lost in our community.
All this happens and develops at Bethel Temple CBC CORE Group. All men's, women's and youth small groups exist under the structure of CORE Groups. Topical and other various Bible studies thrive and offer theologically sound teaching for the new and mature believer. Sweet fellowship and growth occurs within the body as our church community spends time eating, praying, worshipping and loving one another.
Baptism and membership classes also occur within the CORE Group cycle. Through the baptism group, one gains the Biblical significance of what it means to be plunged in the waters and be raised up as testimony of what Christ has done for us all, before a crowd of witnesses on Earth and in Heaven. Membership groups offer a deep dive into the history of Bethel Temple and provides a great forum for questions about the doctrinal beliefs of our church.
CORE Groups run for 3 months at a time with a month break in between. No sign ups are necessary. Simply find a CORE group that interests you and show up at the scheduled time! CORE group leaders and topics change every season but be certain there will be a group in session that will minister to your exact need.
If you are not plugged into a CORE Group we encourage you to join a group that will allow you to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Stay encouraged. God is faithful.
