E1 | The Vine | Lily & Branchey
John 15 Rap
I am the true vine. My Father is the gardener. (John 15:1)
I am the vine. You are the branches. If you remain joined to me, and I to you, you will bear a lot of fruit. You can’t do anything without me. (John 15:5)
What was Branchey’s problem?
Where did Lily say she always looks for help when she has a problem?
Do you look there too? If so, tell about a time when you found help?
Read John 15:1 - Who is the true vine?
Who is the gardener?
Read John 15:5 Who are the branches?
What does a gardener do to take care of a vine?
Why do the branches need the vine?
Branchey wants to figure out how to be connected to the vine, Jesus. How do you think he can get connected?
Look at different plants/trees around the house or look at pictures. Find the main stem or trunk. Find the branches coming from the trunk or main stem. Talk about how the branches need the main part of the plant. Also, talk about what a gardener would do to take care of that plant/tree.
If you have a printer at home, right click and select to save this picture and have your child color it.
If you don’t have a printer, work together to draw a grape vine and color it. Talk about the grape vine and branches. Have your child identify which part is the vine and which are the branches.
Take a photo of your child’s work and e-mail it to firstname.lastname@example.org We would love to post pictures of their artwork on the website!
