Family Bible Time

We will be looking at the Christmas Story in four different parts. This week, we will be reading about how the Magi came to visit Jesus as a young child. Read together Matthew 2:1-12. Look carefully at verses 2 and 11. The Magi saw the star and knew that it meant good news! What did they come to do?

On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Matthew 2:11

Then, look up Isaiah 61:1-2 and Psalm 95:6. Use this printout below to work through it together. Work together to figure out how these passages tell us about the good news of Jesus and what our response should be to that good news. Simply right click on the image below and select print. Then work together to color the words and find out about the good news of Jesus that should lead us to bow down and worship him.

This week, maybe on New Years Eve, have a family worship night. When we hear the good news of Jesus, our only response can be that of the Magi, to come and worship. Choose your family's favorite worship and sing along. Spend some time physically bowing before the Lord and thanking Him for who He is. Pray together that your family would enter 2021 living each day to worship the Lord. May the bad news of our sinfulness lead you to worship God all the more for the Good News of Jesus. Come let us bow down and worship Him.
