E6 | Growing for God's Glory | Lily & Branchey
John 15 Rap
When you bear a lot of fruit, it brings glory to my Father. It shows that you are my disciples.
Why was Branchey frustrated?
When we sin, what did Lily say we can do?
Read John 15:8 - What is a disciple?
What would happen to a plant if you dumped soda on it?
What things help a plant to grow?
What was the thing that Lily said was not helping her to grow Jesus fruit?
What did she say are things she can do to help her grow?
Can you think of any things in your life that are not helping you grow?
Talk together as a family to think of ways to spend more time doing things that will help you grow fruit for God’s glory!
Sending A Note of Thanks
This week, as a family, think about people who have helped you grow in your walk with Jesus. There are many branches on the Jesus vine. To be able to bear a lot of fruit for God's glory, we need other people to help us. Parents and guardians, use this time as a way to tell your children about the people that God has placed in your life along the way that have helped you bear more fruit. Then, help your children to think of people in their lives, too. For example, talk about their teachers from church, members of their family, or even friends who are examples of being a disciple of Jesus to them.
Next, think of a way to thank those people. In this time when we can't see each other in person, what a special blessing it would be to receive a note of thanks. Get creative! Send a video message or give them a surprise phone call. Another idea would be to ask for the person's address and send them a special thank you card. If they live close enough, you could even drive by that person's house and drop off a special gift on their doorstep. Parents and guardians, why not take this time to thank people from your past or present who have helped you grow, too.
Pray & Worship
Pray to be joined to Jesus and trusting in Him for everything. Sing “Just Give Me Jesus”.
A Special Thank You
We would like to thank you for joining us on this wild ride with Lily and Branchey. The last six weeks have been filled with moments of great uncertainty and change all around us. However, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We have been so humbled by the opportunity to lead families to that never-changing Source of Life. Our prayer is that your family has stayed connected to the Jesus vine through it all, and that even in this time of difficulty and pain, your family has been bearing a lot of fruit.
