Walk on Water | Watch Party Activities | Arrow Kids
Here are a few simple activities to help your
kiddos learn from the service as you join up to watch it from home.
WALK ON WATER
This week, we will be talking about how Jesus walked on the water. We will discuss the word doubt and what it means. We can trust Jesus even in the middle of waves and storms in life. He is all-powerful and faithful.
The boat was already a long way from land. It was being pounded by the waves because the wind was blowing against it. Shortly before dawn, Jesus went out to the disciples. He walked on the lake. They saw him walking on the lake and were terrified. “It’s a ghost!” they said. And they cried out in fear. Right away Jesus called out to them, “Be brave! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, is it you?” Peter asked. “If it is, tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” Jesus said. So Peter got out of the boat. He walked on the water toward Jesus. But when Peter saw the wind, he was afraid. He began to sink. He cried out, “Lord! Save me!” Right away Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “Your faith is so small!” he said. “Why did you doubt me?”
Arrows of Triumph (2nd-5th Grade)
For the oldest children, we have a "Doubt Thoughts" page. Throughout the service, kids can think about the word doubt. They can examine the meaning of Matthew 14:24-31 and what it means to trust Jesus even in the midst of winds and waves.

Arrows of Victory (Preschool-1st Grade)
For the younger learners, we have an "I'm Listening Up-Walk on Water" page. Throughout the service kids can think about what it would mean to walk on water and how powerful Jesus must be! Then, you can talk with them about how Peter walked to Jesus on the water but doubted. He began to sink, but Jesus rescued him. We are to trust Jesus, even when things look scary around us.

Arrow Kids (1-10yo)
Use this video to talk about the story of Jesus walking on water.
Then, get out a bucket of water or put water in the bathtub. Have children try to walk on top of the water. As hard as they try, they will not be able to do it. However, Jesus could and so could Peter when he was trusting Jesus. When we trust God, things that seem impossible are not impossible for Him. We are to simply have faith in who He is. Use this song to have a dance party at the end celebrating that nothing is impossible for our God!
